Comparing 5 practical on-farm climate solutions

Over 80% of a food company’s emissions typically come from the farm.
So… what can actually be done on farms to reduce them?

A lot.

We have compared 5 practical on-farm solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. From switching to renewable energy to using biodiesel or biogas, each tool offers different outcomes in terms of climate impact and cost.

To make the comparison clearer, we created a marginal abatement cost curve.

The graph shows our preliminary results:
The width of each bar = how much emissions the tool can reduce (kg CO₂e/kg beef)
The height = the cost per tonne of CO₂e reduced (€ / tonne)

Our feed additive, Lome®, stands out.

It reduces the most emissions per kg beef, and does so at the lowest cost.
That makes it the most cost-effective climate tool in our analysis for food companies seeking real, scalable impact.
